After that generous sip, the doors were pulled open by two masked maids as Prince Ryuhei entered with a sealed envelope in his hands. His eyes were a dark brown, and accentuated by the shadowy circles around his eyes. Jet black locks were slicked back however, giving the impression that while he might look tired, he was still well put together. Slender fingers gripped the outer edges of the envelope, before slowly unclenching as he leaned down and set it on the smooth surface of the mahogany table.

Straightening up, he turned towards his father with his hands folded together behind his back. King Yoshiki eyed his son with a gaze that read expectancy and mild tolerance, the prince instantly taking the hint and sitting down. Hands folded together again in his lap, posture rigid. Raising a brow, the king silently beckoned him to speak.

“Queen Higashi has sent a letter addressed to you, I have not dared to open it. I was informed that it must be brought directly to you. I do apologize if I have disrupted your day or forced you to rearrange your plans, I am aware that you are a very busy king. However I was told that this must not be left in your study, it had to be brought right to you and read immediately.” Ryuhei’s voice was soft and monotonous, the dim lighting in the room reducing his dark eyes to pools of honey as he spoke.

I'm gonna be so real with y'all right now;
I genuinely don't get why people like supposedly ordinary, I really don't
I love writing it, I love the characters, but I don't know how anyone besides me gets enjoyment out of it
